Is life beautiful??

life-is-beautiful.jpgI have a good friend from my college days… one who grew to be my best pals and also a sister. Once when we were sitting at the edge of a fountain, she filled the palm of her hand with some water and held it before me, and said this: “Moid, do you see this water carefully held on my hand? This is symbolic of love.”

And this is what I cud get from a detailed analysis of what she said:
As long as you keep your hand caringly open and allow it to remain there, it will always be there. However, if you attempt to close your fingers round it and try to posses it, it will spill through the gaps. This is the greatest mistake that people do when they meet love… they try to posses it, they demand, they expect… and just like the water spilling out of your hand, love will get away from you. For love is meant to be free and you cannot change its characteristics. If there are people you love, allow them to be like free birds.

Give and don’t expect.
Advise, but don’t order.
Ask, but never demand.

It might sound simple, but it is a lesson that may take a lifetime to truly practice. It is the secret to true love. To truly practice it, you must sincerely feel no expectations from those who you love, and yet an unconditional caring. And then, life turns out to be indeed beautiful!!!

Passing thought in the same context…
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take; but by the moments that take our breath away…..

Journey called lifeAnd in between those thoughts of what life means to you, one somehow tends to forget the fact that life is an unknown road and we are all traveling upon it; unaware of the curves and turns ahead; unaware of the hurdles and milestones ahead; we cannot stop but walk further and further – no halt, no break, no stop…… and one day we reach our destination…

We then realize that we have traveled so far and so long and have come face-to-face with something which we feared to face throughout the journey too. We are left with no option and we cannot travel further because there is no road left ahead…we face our destiny – our death – to at least now rest in peace than to wonder restless on the road of life….

So, however beautiful life is, the fact of the matter is that beauty lies in the unknown as well… and we trudge along unaware of our destiny till the time it leads us to a dead end – OUR DEATH!

If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.
Happy moments, praise God.
Difficult moments, seek God.
Quiet moments, worship God.
Painful moments, trust God.
Every moment, thank God!!!

”This is the greatest mistake that people do when they meet love…they try to posses it, they demand, they expect… and just like the water spilling out of your hand, love will retrieve from you”…

I dont quite agree with that. What if she is trying her best, and giving ample space to him, and he on the other hand in an urge to possess the love looses patience, and ends it all himself? And for which she suffers equally. Whats the sense in that?

I fail to believe that anything else besides compromise, and mutual understanding works to keep the relation going.

You know well Mo-been there and done that, one alone can not make it work ever.

Absolutely! I think ur point of view is in complete conformance to mine… its just about what side you are looking at (half-empty or half-full kinds). When I talk of giving personal space, in the same breath, I do talk of the caring aspect… itz about drawing a balance there – demonstrating unconditional care without intruding into personal terrain. And when someone takes only half the deal, then all is lost… and to keep the full deal, what one needs is compromise and mutual understanding 🙂

Takes me back to the post on truths of life which the erring people should look at… “Don’t throw your back to love when it’s already in front of you, don’t drive it away from you because if you did, someday you’ll think again why you let love fly away when it was once next to you.”

And when talking of a uni-contribution, yea, just like a clap cannot happen with one hand, so does love!
