To dream or not to dream…

We have moved into an age where more people are afraid to dream than people daring to dream.

The digital revolution has made sure we have lots of things to visualize, to concoct as also distract us from our normal vocations. No wonder, the grey matter is all full of dreams. Even though people dread to dream, there are definitely those instances where every person would love to dream or even feel a pressing need to dream.

As kids, most of us had big dreams. I, for one, directly reached the stars wanting to become an Astronaut even before I could spell that term correctly. And as age started overtaking me, I could see practical roadblocks and down started my descent. I wanted to still be up in the air and so found solace in an Air Force Doctor (how noble… innocence of childhood) and finally ended up settling down for a grounded doctor. Lo’ God had different plans for me.. and I am as away from the scalpel as the present-day Iraq is from normalcy.

Eventually as we grow up, we get tired of our dreaming. At times, we get discouraged while getting hurt the rest of the times. To put the final nail on the coffin, people tell us our dreams are unrealistic or that we ain’t worthy enough to achieve such a dream.

And so life goes on… with the same monotony as the history teacher’s renditions in the classroom. But ever wondered what this world would have been had everyone started dreaming great dreams??

Someone’s rightly said, “It’s never too late to be the person you could’ve been”. And one step towards that is to get about motivating oneself to dream. I’ve started making an attmept to do that by encouraging myself to dream big and then propel myself to act upon those to bring them to life. But then, help is always welcome 🙂

Another important way to solicit encouragement is to offer the same to people who come in touch with you. As many dreamers have realized, if you want to encourage your dreams, encourage the dreams of those around you. And it also turns out to be one of the mantras of success.

So, is there still a question on what one needs to be doing??

What’s a dream if you don’t live? And what’s life if you don’t dream? 🙂 Find the answer yourself!!!

    Well said Moid…

Thats true… Life is nothing if we dont dream…. Every successful action plan is incubated in the form of a dream….

Someone has rightly quoted….”Dreams are answers to questions we haven’t yet figured out how to ask”

    @ Tarun

While I just gave in my tidbits of thoughts on dreams, u seem to have a whole blog to speak about it… way to go dude!

You’re right… nothing happens unless a dream. Atleast this is something that has been working for me… and should continue to work, God willing!
